Geo Super is a Pakistani sports channel owned by the Independent Media Corporation (IMC). It has exclusive rights to broadcast Pakistan's home cricket matches, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Premier League, Australian Cricket League and many other major international sporting events. The channel also broadcasts English Premier League football.
The channel has been broadcasting for more than 10 years now, but it has grown rapidly in recent years due to its popularity among viewers who like to watch live coverage of various sports events.
At the tail end of September 2006, Geo Super was introduced by Geo TV Network. The channel Geo Super broadcasts sporting activities. Cricket is its primary concern, although it also follows football and field hockey matches. Field hockey and football are also covered. Soon after it began operations, Geo Super was successful in acquiring the television rights to broadcast all major ICC events for the next five years. This includes the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, the ICC Twenty20 World Cup, the ICC Champions Trophy, the Faysal Bank T20 Cup, and the ICC World Cup of Cricket.
At the present, viewers of Geo Super may choose between watching football, cricket, and tennis. In addition to this, it has the rights to cricket competitions through the year 2021, including the Emirates D10 League. Cricket in Kashmir will continue in the Legends League and the Premier League until 2022. Both the Mzansi Super League and the Oman D10 have agreed to continue playing together until the year 2022. Up to the year 2022, Geo Super will be the exclusive broadcaster of La Liga football matches. Up to the year 2021, Geo Super will be the broadcaster of World Team Tennis.
